Project description: Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival 2005

We tend to be interested in a little flower surviving in a crack of pavement. The design had started from thinking why we do. The design consists of three elements. The first one is the container that is the principal role of the design and represents the artificial elements of this world in general, especially the wreckage of our daily life. The second one is the small mountain set in the container made of pebbles (the clod of dead coral or concrete debris are preferable). The mountain represents the modified natural element, which is probably the simplest form of art. The final one is the tree set on the top of the mountain representing the nature itself. As a whole, it tries to present a relationship between human activities and the nature also the reality that life is ephemeral, which we believe one of the important aspects of Zen. We will be happy if the viewers have a moment to reflect their daily life and acquire a slightly positive idea for the future.
